Searching for a newborn photographer in New Hampshire can feel overwhelming
We have so many photographers around Southern NH alone, so how do you choose?
Safety Should Always Come First
When searching for a newborn photographer, safety should be the number one priority. Newborns are delicate, and working with them requires patience, proper training, and experience. Choosing a reputable photographer who specializes in newborn photography ensures your baby is handled gently and posed safely. An experienced newborn photographer understands baby cues, knows when to take breaks, and always puts your baby’s comfort first.
In my studio, newborn safety is my top priority. I’ve been trained in safe posing techniques and always follow baby-led sessions.
Style Comes Next
Once you’ve found a photographer you trust, style is the next important factor. Every photographer has a unique approach, so take time to explore portfolios and choose one that speaks to you. Whether you’re drawn to a wrapped, studio-style newborn session (my personal fave and specialty) or a cozy, lifestyle session in the comfort of your home, selecting a photographer whose work you love will help ensure your photos feel meaningful and timeless.
Common questions
When should I book my newborn session?
Newborn sessions are best booked during pregnancy, ideally around 30 weeks. Booking early helps secure a spot on my calendar, as I only take a limited number of newborns each month. Once your baby arrives, we’ll finalize the session date based on their birth and what works best for you.
What if my baby won’t sleep?
This is one of the most common concerns—and there’s no need to worry. Newborn sessions are very relaxed and baby-led. With patience, soothing techniques, and plenty of time for feeding and cuddling, babies almost always settle into sleep eventually. Even if your baby stays awake for part of the session, beautiful images can still be captured.
Do parents need to bring anything?
You don’t need to bring anything for photos—I provide all props, wraps, and blankets needed for the session. The only thing I recommend bringing is plenty of feeding supplies, whether that’s formula or anything you need for breastfeeding. A well-fed baby is a happy, sleepy baby.
If you’re expecting and looking for a newborn photographer who values safety, patience, and timeless images, I’d love to connect with you. Newborn photography is about so much more than just beautiful photos, it’s about trusting someone to care for your baby during those first precious days and creating images you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
